HIIT
HIIT is a type of workout that stands for High Interval Intensity Training (HIIT). Essentially, a HIIT workout combines bursts of energetic, aerobic or strength building exercise, with short recovery periods. As the name implies, these bouts of activity are intense, each followed by necessary recovery. The purpose of this type of workout is to increase your aerobic base, improving athletic performance and speed.
A typical HIIT class will include rhythmic, high energy music, elevated cardio-burning activity, and lots of strength training. Expect to use weights and props, such as box steps, kettle bells, hand weights, resistance bands, and medicine balls. The purpose of a HIIT workout is to burn calories and increase your metabolic rate. Here are some more things you should know about HIIT.
