How is a 1-on-1 yoga session on MyYogaTeacher different from a yoga studio class?

In a typical studio class, you practice at a set time with a group of students where it's hard to catch up with the group and to ask questions. Our MyYogaTeacher private 1-on-1 sessions are tailored specifically for your body, your goals and your schedule. You take the session with a coach through live video conferencing over Zoom - in the privacy of your home.

I am new to yoga. Is MyYogaTeacher right for me?

Absolutely, MyYogaTeacher is the perfect place to begin! You get 1-on-1 time with an expert Indian coach to work on your goals in the privacy of your own home. Based on your goals - like increase flexibility, improve strength, improve presence and mental calm or anything else - your yoga coach will build a plan and ensure that you are making progress.

Does yoga over the internet and video conferencing really work?

You will be surprised how well it works! Give it a try by scheduling a free 1-on-1 session and assess for yourself. We have many satisfied students and well-trained coaches already using our platform.

Will a coach come to my home?

Well almost! The coach is live with you via video conferencing via Zoom. It's almost like having your coach visit your home at a time that works best for you.

I am interested in trying out MyYogaTeacher. How do I get started?

Download our mobile app and sign up. Browse through our list of amazing hand-selected coaches and schedule a free session. You can also get started by signing up on our website myyogateacher.com.

How much does each session cost?

Our 1-on-1 sessions cost less than $20/hour and we offer flexible membership plans. And we also have online group classes. Please check our pricing page at https://MyYogaTeacher.com/pricing for our membership plans.

Do you offer monthly or weekly subscription plans?

We offer membership subscription plans with billing every 4 weeks. 4 weeks billing cycle helps you plan better by thinking in terms of the number of 1-on-1 sessions you plan to take every week.

Do I get any free sessions?

Currently, you can get a free 1-on-1 session with a coach available for a week. If you have been referred by a friend, you may get additional free 1-on-1 sessions!

Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership later?

Absolutely ! You can upgrade or downgrade your membership at any time later

Upgrades take effect immediately and a new 4-week cycle starts on the day of the upgrade. We refund you for any unused sessions from your prior plan.

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current 4-week cycle. This means that you will remain on your current plan until the end of your 4-week cycle.

Can I pause my membership?

Absolutely! You can pause your membership any time. Membership pause is available for duration of 7 days or more. During the pause, you will not be charged and you will not be able to take any yoga sessions.

Your current 4-week billing cycle gets extended by the number of days pause is in effect.

You may pause your membership up to 3 times within a 12 month period (for a total sum of no more than 60 days).

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. Your membership would remain active until the end of the current 4 week cycle and will not be renewed.

If you prepaid and availed of a discounted membership rate, we do not issue any refunds. However, you can put your membership on pause and use remaining balance later. Please note rolled over sessions are only available until your membership is active.

How often would I be billed?

Membership is billed every 4 weeks ( 28 days ). We will send you a receipt by email every time your membership is renewed.

We have 4 weeks billing cycle, as it involves fixed number of days, unlike months. As an example, if your membership starts on a thursday, your credit card will be charged every 4th thursday.

This helps users easily plan their weekly 1-on-1 sessions when on plans such as one 1-on-1 session a week or two 1-on-1 sessions a week.

Do unused sessions rollover to the next billing cycle?

Yes, any unused plan hours from current 4-week billing cycle roll-over to the next cycle. You can keep rolling over sessions for upto 6 billing cycles.

You can also pause your membership if you are away for long durations and are unable to take yoga sessions. Rolled over sessions are available until you membership is active.

Can I use HSA / FSA to buy MyYogaTeacher membership?

Yes, you might be eligible to buy MyYogaTeacher Membership using your HSA / FSA dollars and save 30% on your taxes. We have partnered with Truemed. You may visit https://app.truemed.com/qualify/tm_qual_quoc30a1rg to determine your eligibility and obtain letter of medical necessity.

How does using my HSA/FSA save me money?

HSA/FSA accounts were created so individuals could use pretax money to pay for expenses incurred in the prevention or alleviation of a disease. Because HSA/FSA uses tax-free money, you’re getting more purchasing power for your dollars. Rather than pay taxes on income and then spend it on health items, qualified customers can use pre-tax funds to invest in their health.

I don’t have an HSA/FSA account, where can I get one?

An HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are tax-advantaged accounts that allow individuals to set aside money to pay for qualified health and medical expenses. These accounts are typically offered through employers. If you're unsure whether you have an HSA or FSA, you can check with your employer's HR department or your benefits administrator.

How can I use my HSA account to pay for MyYogaTeacher membership?

If you have a HSA debit card, you could use it directly on MyYogaTeacher website to purchase membership. You could alternatively use any other regular credit card and get MyYogaTeacher membership reimbursed by your HSA Administrator. We would be happy to provide you with a consolidated receipt for a period of time. We have partnered with Truemed. How do I schedule a session?

You can schedule sessions from our mobile apps or from the website. When scheduling, you can either start by choosing a date and preferred time of day, or by browsing through available times on your coach's profile page. You can either schedule private 1-on-1 sessions or book group classes

How long is a MyYogaTeacher session?

A private 1-on-1 session is 1 hour long with approximately 55 minutes of yoga. Group classes can be either 30 minutes or 1 hour long. Duration of a group class is mentioned next to the time of the class.

How do I choose a coach?

Each coach has a profile page with a short introduction video, goals they can address and a list of different forms of yoga they are trained in. Feel free to reach out to any coach through the in-app chat if you have additional questions!

Can I change my coach for a private 1-on-1 session and try a different one?

Absolutely, we encourage you to try sessions with different coaches. Don't worry about upsetting your previous coach - coaches aren't notified when you change. Plus! We recommend that you work with at least two coaches to make sure you have another coach to work with if a coach goes on a vacation. Our coaches want you to be with a coach that you are most comfortable with, so feel free to experiment until you find the coaches you like.

I am unable to find a coach at a time that works for me. What should I do?

Please message our care team from the chat window or email us at care@myyogateacher.com or call us at +1 (855) 771-2929, with your preferred coach (if any), day and times. We will help you setup your first session.

Can I cancel my session?

Yes, you can cancel your session at any time. You will not be charged any cancellation fees if you cancel with 12 hours or more in advance of your session.

We are focused on helping you build a healthy habit of yoga. So in order to discourage cancellation because of inertia or ambivalence, we will charge you the full session fee if you cancel with less than 12 hours in advance. Can I reschedule my session?

To reschedule your session, just cancel the existing session and book a new one at a new time. Improved rescheduling capability will be provided in an upcoming version of our service.

What happens if I cancel my private 1-on-1 session within 12 hours of the session time or I do not show up for my session?

No shows and cancellations within 12 hours are charged as completed sessions. We do this to respect the coach's time. They save the slot for you and if it's cancelled with under 12 hours of notice, the coach isn't able to fill that slot with another student.

Just a note! For unlimited sessions membership, we charge a $10 fee for no shows or for a cancellation with less than 12 hours notice.

Can I book multiple sessions in one go?

Yes, you can either book an individual 1-on-1 session or book repeat sessions (same day of the week, same time and with the same coach). You can also book as many group classes as you would like to join.

What happens if my coach becomes unavailable?

If your coach becomes unavailable due to an emergency, we notify you and give you the option to take the session with a substitute coach (who matches your coach's experience and style) or cancel the session without a penalty.

How do I prepare for my first session?

You might be nervous about your first session! How is this going to work? Do I have the right setup? Will I hear the coach?

Don't worry, we are here to help. All you need to do is go through our guided setup at https://MyYogaTeacher.com/setup.

You can also book a 5 minute consultation with us from within the app. We call you back at the requested time to walk you through the setup process and make sure you are fully ready for your session.

How do I communicate with my coach?

You can chat with your coach from inside the mobile app, before and after your session. Soon, we'll be adding voice support for direct phone calls with your coaches.

What do I need for my first session?

You just need the following for your first session:

1. Yoga mat

2. Space - a quiet and well-lit space for yoga

3. Laptop or phone

How much space do I need for my session?

We want your coach to be able to fully see you during your yoga session. Typically, you want to have about 2-mat lengths (10-12 feet) space between the mat and your laptop or phone. Don't worry if the space is a bit less or more. The goal is for the coach to be able to see you from head to toe.

Which room should I do yoga in?

Any room in the house should work. Pick an open and quiet area for your session. Garage, hallway, dining room, living room or bedroom all work if you can fit a yoga mat and have space in front of your laptop or phone.

I have kids. Can I still do yoga at home?

Yes!!

Kids are welcome to do yoga with you, just make sure you have enough space so that the coach can see everyone. Of course you can schedule separate sessions for your spouse and kids.

But, if you are looking for that much needed alone time, the best time to do yoga might be when the kids are asleep or at daycare or school.

If the kids are at home, try and get them busy with a safe and fun activity.

Don't worry if kids do interrupt! Our coaches have families and know that kids will sometimes interrupt and they know how to guide you around such interruptions.

Do I need a laptop or a mobile phone?

You can sign up and schedule sessions from either your smartphone or laptop. We recommend you join sessions using your laptop or a tablet as a larger screen helps you see your coach better.

Should I connect my device to a TV?

A laptop is good enough for the yoga session. But if you like, you can connect your laptop or smartphone to a TV. The big screen will enable you to see your coach even better.

You can also mirror your Apple device to Apple TV.

Do I need a headset for my session?

The laptop or phone audio is usually good enough for the yoga session. But if you live in a noisy environment, you can connect your laptop or smartphone to a bluetooth headset for even better audio.

Can I have my spouse or kids join me for my session?

Yes!

When you have your spouse or kids join you, you will need a bigger space to make sure everybody is fully visible to the coach.

Just note - since there will be more than one student, the attention of the coach is going to be divided between the students - decreasing the amount of 1-on-1 attention for you. However, a number of our students prefer group sessions because it makes for a great family bonding time!

I am going to be late to join for my session. What should I do?

Send a chat message to your coach from inside the app. Your coach will wait for you to join your session. Your coach would drop off if you are more than 15 minutes late, in which case you can reschedule the session for another time. Just a note though - you might be charged a cancellation fee or lose a session credit.

Can I get a recording of my sessions?

Yes!!

We record all of our private 1-on-1 sessions for your benefit. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Recordings are available only to you, your coach and our internal care team. Please view the following video to learn more about private 1-on-1 sessions recordings :

I lost video connection during a live session! What should I do?

Send a chat message to your coach from inside the app. Check if your internet is working and then reconnect.

I was late for my private 1-on-1 session and the coach is no longer in the video conference. What should I do?

Send a chat message to your coach from inside the app to ask the coach to join. Please remember that our coaches might have a hard stop at the scheduled ending time so the session may have to be shortened. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your session, your coach may have disconnected from the session and walked away from their computer. Please send a message to them from the app.

How can I invite a friend or family member to my 1-on-1 session?

It's simple ! Just navigate to your scheduled 1-on-1 sessions and click on 'Invite a Friend' button. Please see screen recording below.

$5 per friend joining a 60 minutes session would be added to your next billing.

Yoga just might be something that your friend needs and they might be very thankful for introducing them to Yoga and MyYogaTeacher service.

What happens if I am not able to join a session for which I have invited a friend

You have two options. You could cancel the session and inform your friend, in this case your friend would also not be able to join the yoga session. Regular cancellation policy for 1-on-1 session applies.

Another option is you could let the session go on between the coach and your friend without you being there. In this case, you would be charged 1 hour for the session plus an additional $5 for your friend joining the session.

Can I invite multiple friends to one 1-on-1 session?

Yes, you can invite as many friends as you choose. $5 per friend joining a 60 minute session would be added to your next billing cycle. Charges are prorated to $2.50 and $7.50 for 30 and 90 minute sessions.

My friend wants to have 1-on-1 sessions at a different time than me

Congratulations on getting your friend interested and prioritizing their, health and wellness ! You can request her / him to create a MyYogaTeacher account and then schedule sessions at convenient times.

Your friend would get a 7 day trial as well with 3 free 1-on-1 sessions and thereafter can sign up for a membership to schedule sessions.

What if I invited my friend but she or he did not join

No worries. You can continue your session with the coach as usual. We add $5 per friend to your next billing only if your friend joins a session. You're charged only when your friend joins your sessions.

Can I invite my friend to a weekly repeating session

You can invite your friend to any 1-on-1 session of yours but there is a separate link for each 1-on-1 session. You could need to invite friend to each individual session.
