Bikram Hot Yoga
Bikram yoga is a style of practice invented by Bikram Choudhury in the 1970s. Bikram yoga is practiced in a hot room and involves a specific sequence of 26 postures. The room is heated between 95 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit, typically with humidity levels over 40 percent. Bikram yoga differs from other hot yoga classes in that it can only be taught by a Bikram-certified instructor.
Bikram hot yoga can benefit your mind and body in a variety of ways. The intense heat causes excessive sweating that detoxifies the body and improves circulation. Bikram yoga can also improve your flexibility, since the heat and humidity of the room allows your muscles to loosen and achieve a deeper stretch.
