    Hi Angela,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this up in such detail — genuinely, this is the kind of feedback that helps us fix the right things, and you spotted a couple of real bugs in the mobile app.

Two of the things you flagged were exactly right, and I wanted to let you know we’ve already fixed
    — The class descriptions running together (“no full stops or spaces between sentences”) — on the website those sections are proper bullet points, but the app was mistakenly collapsing them into one block of text. It now renders them as clean bullet points, matching the website.

    — Reviews not showing dates — you’re right, the dates were on the website but missing in the app. Reviews now show their date on mobile too. Just to clarify, that date is when the review was written, not the date of the class

Both of these are in an app update that’s rolling out shortly, so you should see the difference soon.

    On your other points:
    — Not being able to tell which review belongs to which teacher — that’s a fair callout, and it’s something we’re looking into surfacing more clearly in the app.
    — The age guidance and the wording/punctuation in the class description — I’ve passed these to the team that manages class content so they can tidy up the copy and make the recommendation clearer.

Really appreciate you helping us make the app better. If you notice anything else — on mobile or the site — please don’t hesitate to flag it.

From what I notice there are various problems with the app, especially since the latest version came out. I try not to get involved, as it is time consuming and I feel that an app should be tested BEFORE it goes live so that these issues do not end up as part of the user experience. However, I have to mention the fact ( actually I have mentioned it previously quite some time ago), when I click on the bell icon and there is a notification inviting rating and feedback for my last class, I click on the notification but am not taken to the feedback page. This isn’t fair on the teachers as not everyone knows the other method of submitting feedback ( via my sessions/ past sessions.) Additionally, I sometimes ( only every few weeks) randomly receive an email inviting feedback for a particular session. Why is it only occasionally and who or what decides which session I am asked about, and why ?

      Hi Angela,

Fair point on the testing — we’re tightening that up so fewer of these slip through. Thanks for bearing with us.

On the bell notification: you’re right, tapping the rating/feedback notification wasn’t opening the feedback page, and I know it’s been around a while. That’s exactly what we fixed just yesterday — it now takes you straight to the feedback screen for that class, so you won’t need to go via My Sessions → Past Sessions anymore. It’ll be in the update coming out shortly.

On the feedback emails — they’re not random, and not on set days. They’re tied to your classes with each teacher. For any teacher you practise with, we ask for feedback after your 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class with them, and then once every ten classes after that — so your 14th, 24th, 34th, and so on. The email arrives about 90 minutes after the class ends.

The count is kept separately for each teacher (and one-on-one classes are counted separately from group classes), so with a new teacher you’ll be asked afresh during those first few classes. That’s why it feels occasional once you’ve been with someone a while — after the first four classes together, the next prompt for that teacher only comes around at class 14. And it always follows a class you’ve actually just had, so it never turns up out of the blue on a day you didn’t practise.

One thing worth knowing: you don’t have to wait to be asked. You can leave feedback for any class, any time, via My Sessions → Past Sessions.

Really appreciate you sticking with it and flagging all of this — it genuinely helps us make the app better.

Today I was about to book a class, I think it was around 8.11 am in UK time. Suddenly the screen went completely black without me pressing anything ( this has happened before, although not recently) After booking the class via webpage, about 10 minutes later the app was still a black screen. I uninstalled it and reinstalled and it reappeared 😂

This has happened to me, too. I had to log back in and also restart (USA)

              Angela Hi Angela,

Thank you for staying on this and for the detail each time — it genuinely helped us track it down. You were right, it was a real bug

Good news — it’s fixed, and the fix is now live in the latest version on the Play Store / App Store. Could you update the app? Once you’re on the new version (4.0.6.2) you shouldn’t hit the black screen again — and no more reinstalling.

I’ll be honest, this one took longer than I’d have liked to get out — it needed a full app update rather than a quick over-the-air fix, so thank you for bearing with us in the meantime. If it happens even once more after updating, tell me straight away.

              Really appreciate you, Angela
              Shubhangi

                Hi Bonnie,

Thanks for flagging this too! Yours looks a bit different from Angela’s — being on iOS and having to log back in points more to a sign-in hiccup than the Android bug we just fixed, so I don’t want to say it’s sorted on your end yet.

Could you update to the latest version from the App Store to start with? And if it happens again after that, tell me roughly when + your iOS version and I’ll trace it.
