I would like to attend the sessions which will teach the techniques for certain peak poses. Many yoga instructors outside of MYT does this. I like MYT platform but only one thing bothers me. Every teacher is bringing their own style to MYT which confuse the students. e.g. Teacher A has a different style of warm ups or startup or flow while Teacher B has a different style. I do not want to take a name of any teacher but I know teacher who will not chant Om in the practice. I am doing yoga for 11 years and every session with MYT and outside of MYT, I have started with Om chant which soothes my mind but now this new teacher do not chant Om. I have no choice but to attend her class due to timings. So I would suggest MYT to make a course type materials for each style of yoga and every teacher has to follow that same flow. Then student will learn more and reach the goals, regardless who is the teacher. I had given this suggestion to admin last year but it was not read even. I hope this time MYT admin can look into my suggestion.

Chhaya Patel I’m not experienced in yoga like you are, but here is just another point of view.
Firstly, it is not the aim of every class to work towards a peak pose. Different classes have different purposes and different students have different motivations and expectations - for some with health issues such as back pain or hip or knee osteoarthritis for example, it is more important to work on poses for flexibility, mobility and strengthening, focussing on particular muscle groups. Older people whose aim is to conserve muscle mass may prefer a yoga fusion using weights and resistance bands.
Others prefer restorative classes. Definitely not everybody wants to work towards a peak pose every class; I think that I am right in saying that the most popular classes do NOT work towards a peak pose. For me, one of the main strengths of MYT is the vast amount of different types of class available to cater for different people.

Secondly, although I know nothing about teaching yoga, I know a lot about teaching martial arts, and I’ve helped hundreds of students get their front splits ( just an example as it’s exactly the same as hanumasana in yoga.) There are so many different stretches, warm ups and preliminary exercises to work towards the final pose, and it is always beneficial to vary them from class to class. It’s far more productive than repeating the same warm up class after class, which often results in some of the students reaching a point beyond which they don’t progress.

I can’t really comment on chanting " Om ". I’ve tried many different classes on MYT over the past 5 years and none of the teachers I’ve had so far omitted it that I can remember.

Maybe people would like a full session of sound healing as

      1. Not included on normal schedule as far as I am aware, so good for a special occasion.
      2. Suitable for all ages. abilities and levels of experience.
      3. Extremely relaxing and restorative for a Sunday.
I’ve only done this with Rohan, who has now sadly left, but maybe another teacher can do it.

Chhaya Patel Thank you for sharing this thoughtful feedback. I understand how differences in teaching styles—especially things like warm-ups or starting with Om—can feel unsettling when you’re used to a certain flow.

Tagging the right team here so this can be looked into. Appreciate you bringing this up so constructively 🙏

Vaibhaw Please feel free to share your inputs here.

A 30 min session with simple guidelines for pre and post yoga(workout/kriya) nutrition depending on class type would be very beneficial thank you for organising. 🙏🏽

Some teachers start sessions with a prayer, some with Om Shanti. I don’t do either. I continue to breathe.
            Singing bowls sounds nice.
